Woqod Now Has
65 Permanent and Mobile Petrol Stations after Opening in Old
Salata

(Woqod) announced that it has increased the number of its petrol
stations to 65 varying between permanent and mobile, following
the inauguration of a new station in Old Salata today, as part
of its strategic plan to expand its network of stations and
serve all regions of the country.

Rashid Al Mohannadi, Woqod Chief Executive Officer, said: “We
are delighted to inaugurate the new petrol station in Old Salta
in order to meet the needs of the residents and customers. He
confirmed that this new step comes in line with Woqod’s
ambitious plans to widen its network and ease access to its
stations. The company also aims to meet the growing demand for
petroleum products in the local market and ensure the provision
of quality products and services to all customers across the
country.
Al Mohannadi
said that more stations will be opened during the current month
to enhance customer service. He expressed his thanks and
appreciation to all concerned parties who contributed to the
completion of the project.
Eng. Al
Mohannadi said that Qatar Fuel currently oversees the
construction of 30 new petrol stations, most of which are
expected to be operational during the current year, noting that
there are 7 stations in the tender phase, and 10 stations in the
design phase, adding that this October will also see the opening
of two permanent stations, one at Hamad International Airport
and the other at Fox Hills (Lusail).
He pointed out
that work is currently underway on the removal of diesel pumps
and conversion into gasoline in the stations of Wadi Al-Banat,
Abu Fasila, and Rawdat Al Hamam, in order to enhance customer
service and reduce the congestion at stations, explaining that
diesel pumps will be replaced by three mobile diesel stations
placed close to the aforementioned stations.
He explained
that Qatar Fuel has a strategic plan aimed at increasing the
total number of working stations to 120 permanent and mobile
stations by 2020.
