"Woqod" Launches Two New Petrol Stations Totaling 72 Stations

Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has launched two new
refueling stations today, Al Kharaitiyat Petrol Station and the
Al Thumama 2 Petrol Station, bringing the total number of fixed
and mobile stations owned by the company to 72.
Eng. Saad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Chief
Executive Officer, said that the opening of the two new
locations translates Woqod’s ambitious plans of expanding its
network of stations and facilitating access to them. The company
is eager to meet the increasing demand for petroleum products in
the local market and ensure the provision of high quality
products and services for all customers across the country.
He also stressed that Woqod has recently
accelerated the construction of other stations to enhance
customer service, and expressed the company’s gratitude and
appreciation to all stakeholders that contribute to the
completion of such vital projects.
Al-Mohannadi explained that Qatar Fuel
currently oversees the implementation of 25 new petrol stations,
a large number of which are expected to become operational
during the current year, noting that there are currently 7
petrol stations at the tender phase, while 16 others in the
design phase.
The Al Kharaitiyat petrol station’s surface
area is 11,300 square meters and contains 3 lanes, including 9
fuel pumps to serve Al Kharaitiyat and neighboring areas. As for
the Al Thumama 2 petrol station is 7,000 square meters in
surface area and contains 3 lanes including 9 fuel pumps to
cater to the area dwellers and enhance the quality of service
and reduce the congestion resulting from the closure of many
other petrol stations.
