Qatar Achieves Trade Surplus of QR 15.8 Billion during January

On a year-on-year basis, the country's merchandise trade balance rose by 0.8% in January, but fell 0.3% compared to December 2018, according to data from the Planning & Statistics Authority.

In a statement on foreign trade statistics for the month of January this year, the Authority said that the commodity balance (representing the difference between total exports and imports) recorded a surplus of QR 15.8 billion, an increase of QR 0.1 billion on a year-on-year basis, while it decreased by 0.3% compared to December 2018.
