QR 13.1 Billion Trade Balance Surplus of Qatar during April 2019

Qatar’s trade balance, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, showed a surplus of QR13.1 billion in the previous month of April, registering a year-on-year decrease of about QR 1.7 billion or 11.3%, while it dropped by about QR0.1 billion or 0.4% compared to the trade surplus reported in March January of this year.

 

The Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics’ data on foreign trade statistics for April 2019 show that the total exports of goods (including exports of goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to about QR22.1 billion, showing a decrease of 7.8% compared to April 2018, and decreased by 2.8% compared to the previous month of March 2019. Imports of goods on the other hand stood at QR9 billion registering a year-on-year drop of 2.3%, and a decrease of 6.1% compared to March 2019.

 

The total exports of Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons reached at QR13.9 billion in April 2019, a decrease of 2.1%, while Petroleum oils and oils from bituminous minerals (crude) stood at QR3.8 billion nearly, a decrease of 4.6%. On another hand, Petroleum oils and oils from bituminous minerals (not crude) recorded QR1.3 billion, a drop of 40.7%.
