Nebras Energy completes the acquisition of a majority stake in four solar projects in Brazil

Nebras Energy Investment Management PV, A Dutch subsidiary of Nebras Energy ("Nebras"), has completed the acquisition of four electricity generating through solar energy in Brazil. For Nebras, this acquisition is a key step to start investing in Latin America, where the company currently has significant assets in Europe, Asia and the MENA region.

 

The majority-owned portfolio is considered one of the largest solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects in Latin America with a total production capacity of 482.6 MW as follows:

 

Salegueiro Solar Holding       :           Total production capacity of 114.3 Mega Watt

Francisco Sa Solar Holding SA          :           Total production capacity of 114.3 Mega Watt

Jaiba Solar Holding SA                      :           Total production capacity of 101.6 Mega Watt

Lavras Solar Holding SA                   :           Total production capacity of 152.4 Mega Watt

 

Eng. Fahad Bin Hamad Al Mohannadi, Chairman of Nebras Energy, said: “We are very pleased with this important acquisition. As part of the signed agreement, Canadian Solar will retain a 20% stake in the projects. Nebras and Kandyan Solar will collaborate on project management and construction of solar power plants. The first project in the portfolio, Salgero, was started this year and will finish the other constructional works for commercial operation by 2020. In regards to the other three projects, it is expected to finish the constructional works and development and commence the commercial operation by 2021. With the completion of these projects, it will be one of the largest solar energy portfolio in Latin America.
