Qatar Central Bank Issues QAR 600 Million Treasury Notes in November

In line with its efforts to develop and enhance the monetary policy in the State of Qatar, and part of its contribution to the solidity of the banking and financial system and activating the open market instruments as one of the monetary policy tools. And in the implementation of the coordination mechanism between the fiscal and monetary policies, Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has issued on Tuesday, 05 November 2019 three-term treasury notes for 3, 6 and 9months. Total value of the Issues amounted QAR 600 million distributed as follows:

-          QAR 300 million, 3-month Notes at a discount rate of 1.73%

-          QAR 200 million, 6 months Notes at a discount rate of 1.76%

-          QAR 100 million, 9 months Notes at a discount rate of 1.81%

Such Issue comes within the series of Issues conducted by the QCB on behalf of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the prior-prepared time schedule by Qatar Central Bank and in Coordination with the Ministry of Finance.

Qatari Treasury Notes are normally offered through an auction in favor of the banks operating in the State of Qatar.
