Qatar Aluminum (Qatalum) Appoints Eng. Khalid Mohammed Laram, New “CEO” Effective 05 November 2019

Qatar Aluminum Manufacturing Company (QAMCO), a 50% stakeholder in Qatalum (a joint-venture running an aluminum factory in Qatar for the production of primary aluminum) has announced that it has appointed Eng. Khalid Mohammed Laram as the Chief Executive Officer of Qatalum effective November 5th. 2019.

It is worth mentioning that Eng. Khaled Laram has BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South California, USA, and started his career with Qatar Petroluem in May 1985. Mr. Laram has more than 33 years of experience in varied industrial sectors starting from basic engineering designing to modern projects, including the operation of complicated utilities.

Throughout his career, while he was representing Qatar Petroleum, Mr. Laram worked closely with the several international companies, i.e. British Petroleum BP, Total, ExxonMobil, Chevron Philips and Conoco Philips.

Laram is a Board member in QAMCO since inception and also a Board member in Gulf Aluminum Council. In addition, he is a member of the Aluminum International Institute and a former Board member of Qatar Steel Co. in 2014.

As QAMCO expresses its thanks and gratitude to the former CEO Mr. Tom Peter Johansen for his valued service in Qatalum since Jan 2019, It wishes Mr. Laram all the success in his new endeavors.
