Qatar Central Bank Issues Treasury Bills of QAR 600 Million for December 2019

Part of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) efforts to develop the monetary policy in the State of Qatar and increase its effectiveness, contribute to the robustness of the banking and financial system, activate the instruments of an open market as one of the tools of monetary policy, and for further implementing the mechanism of coordination between fiscal and monetary policies, QCB has issued treasury bills on Tuesday 03 December 2019 for three , six , and nine-month terms, with a total value of around QAR 600 million distributed as follows:

-QAR 300 million 3-month term at an interest rate of 1.65%

-QAR 200 million 6-month term at an interest rate of 1.65%

- QAR 100 million for 9-months at an interest rate of 1.67%

This issuecomes as part of series of issues conducted by QCB on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the schedule prepared in advance by Qatar Central Bank and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. Treasury bills are issued through an offering for the banks operating in the State of Qatar.
