The Group Securities: Weekly Report on QSE Performance,
2-6 July 2017
After Eid holidays, QSE performance slowed down as most
investors were on vacation, or probably in wait for the
semi-annual results of the QSE-listed companies. The market was
also anxious about the prospect of an escalation by the
blockading countries after the end of the deadline last
Thursday. Total trading volume declined to QR1.37 billion.
General index dropped by 108 points to the level of 8923 points.
Total capitalization fell by QR 479.7 billion. Price-earnings
ratio shrank to 12.59 times the original price. non-Qatari
individual investors sold net worth QR77.7 million. The Group
reviews QSE performance in this week with illustrative charts
combined with corporate business news, and a list of the
affecting economic factors.
Corporate News:
1--Several companies announced their intention to release their
financials for the first half of this year in the upcoming
weeks.
Economic Developments
1-- Qatar's central bank announced the result of the treasury
bills conducted on 04 July 2017. All of the three-, five-,
seven-, and nine-month bills on offer were sold at a value of QR
1billion.
2--Banks consolidated balance sheet for May has been released.
The data shows a rise in total assets by about QR 5.4 billion to
stand at QR 1313.5 billion.
The total domestic public debt, including bonds,
decreased by about QR 6.8 billion to QR 457.6 billion, while the
total domestic private sector deposits increased by QR 2.5
billion to the level of QR 441.6 billion.
3--Qatar Petroleum (QP) has announced its onshore crude oil
official prices for June. The company set Qatar offshore crude
oil price at $46.50per and offshore at 45.85 dollars per barrel.
OPEC oil prices increased again at the beginning of the week
only to settle at the level of 46.52 dollars by the end of week,
slightly up by 3.38 dollars.
4-- Last week, Dow Jones index gained 4 points to reach the
level of 21414 points. US Dollar exchange rate increased to the
level of 113.89 yen, and $ 1.14 per Euro. Gold price decreased
by 41 dollars to the level of $ 1212 per ounce.
