Qatar National Bank Joins
FTSE4Good Index Series Constituents
FTSE4Good is a series of ethical
investment stock markets indexes launched by FTSE, a wholly owned
subsidiary by London Stock Exchange. The FTSE4Good index was designed to
benchmark the performance of corporations who implement vigorous
practices in terms of ESG and used by a wide range of firms to establish
and assess ESG responsible mutual funds and other products.
Considering the global increased
exposure on sustainability as one of the most urging issues in all
sectors, QNB has launched its own sustainability strategy which covers
all the sectors within QNB Group to tune up with national and
international sustainability standards. With this step, QNB was able to
improve its methods of merging its ESG standards in financing,
commercial businesses and community activities.
Besides, and in line with its
compliance with sustainability development, QNB Group has joined the
United Nations Global Compact, which is counted as the largest corporate
sustainability initiative in the world promoting the implementation of
the best practices in fields of human rights, labor, environment and
combatting of corruption.
Being listed in FTSE4Good Index
Series is a testimony for QNB’s convenient implementation of its
sustainability strategy and the Bank’s distinctive performance in this
arena. In addition, it sheds the light on the Bank’s successful efforts
for the improvement of its compliance and disclosure of ESG priorities.
