Qatar Central Bank Issues Treasury Bills of QAR 600 MM for April

In line with
its efforts to develop and enhance the monetary policy in the State of
Qatar and increasing its effectiveness. Also part of its contribution to
the solidity of the banking and financial system in the country and
activating the open market instruments as one of the monetary policy
tools, in addition to the implementation of the coordination mechanism
between the fiscal and monetary policies, Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has
issued today, Wednesday,
1 April 2020, treasury bills for three, six and nine months at a total
value of nearly QAR 600 million distributed as follows:

QAR 300 million, three-month bills at an interest rate of 0.81%
Ø
QAR 200 million, six-month bills at an interest rate of 0.82%
Ø
QAR 100 million, nine-month bills at an interest rate of 0.66%
The Issue comes in the context of the
series of Issues conducted by the Qatar Central Bank on behalf of the
State of Qatar and in accordance with the prior-prepared time schedule
by Qatar Central Bank and in Coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
Qatari Treasury Bills are normally
offered through an auction in favor of the banks operating in the State
of Qatar.
