Mr. Rob Sherwin,  Deputy Chairman of Qatar Shell said  on Sunday that the company plans to shut down one of the two production lines for converting gas to liquids (GTL) in the Pearl GTL Plant in Qatar in March next year for a comprehensive maintenance work.

He added that the maintenance work would stop the second production line and that may take a month or two.

He told Reuters on the sidelines of an energy conference in Doha, "Pearl GTL Plant consists of  two identical production lines. The first line underwent maintenance work in earlier time this year and the same action will be repeated in 2016 for the second line almost at the same time in March."

According to Shell's website, Pearl GTL Plant includes two identical production lines and each of them has production capacity of 140,000 barrels per day of gas to petroleum liquids (GTL) in addition to 120,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids (NGL) and Ethane.
