Bank Issues QAR 600 Million Treasury Bills in July 2020

Within the
context of its efforts to develop and enhance the monetary policy in the
State of Qatar and to increase its efficacy; also as part of its
contribution to the robustness of the banking and financial system in
the country and activating the open market instruments being one of the
monetary policy tools; in addition to applying the coordination
mechanism between the fiscal and monetary policies, Qatar Central Bank
‘QCB’ has issued today Wednesday 01 July 2020 treasury bills of QAR 600
million for terms of three, six and nine months distributed as follows:

300 million, three-month bills at an interest rate of 0.25%

QAR
200 million, six-month bills at an interest rate of 0.35%

QAR
100 million, nine-month bills at an interest rate of 0.41%
This Issuance comes in the framework
of Issuances chain conducted by Qatar Central Bank on behalf of the
government of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the
prior-prepared time schedule by Qatar Central Bank and in Coordination
with the Ministry of Finance.
It is worth-noting that Qatari
Treasury Bills are normally offered through an auction in favor of the
banks operating in the State of Qatar.
