Qatar Central Bank Issues QAR 600 Million Treasury Bills in Sept 2020

In line with its efforts to develop and enhance the monetary policy in the State of Qatar and to further increase its effectiveness. Also as part of its contribution to the robustness of the banking and financial system in the country and activating the open market instruments as one of the monetary policy tools. This is besides the implementation of a coordinated mechanism between the fiscal and monetary policies, Qatar Central Bank ‘QCB’ has issued today Tuesday 01 September 2020 treasury bills worth QAR 600 million for terms of three, six and nine months distributed as follows:
-    QAR 300 million, three-month bills at an interest rate of 0.16%
-    QAR 200 million, six-month bills at an interest rate of 0.22%
-    QAR 100 million, nine-month bills at an interest rate of 0.28%
This Issuance comes in the context of the series of Issuances conducted by  Qatar Central Bank on behalf of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the prior-set time schedule by Qatar Central Bank and in Coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
Qatari Treasury Bills are normally offered through an auction in favor of the banks operating in the State of Qatar.
