Qatar Central Bank issues treasury bills worth 600 million riyals for October 2020

300 – million riyals for three months at an interest rate 0.11% Within the framework of the Qatar Central Bank’s endeavor to develop monetary policy in the State of Qatar, increase its effectiveness, contribute to the durability of the banking and financial system, activate open market tools as one of the monetary policy tools, and in implementation of the coordination mechanism between financial and monetary policies, the Qatar Central Bank issued on Tuesday,  6 October 2020 three, six and nine months treasury bills, where the value of issuances amounted to about 600 million Qatari riyals, distributed as follow:
200 - million riyals for six months at an interest rate 0.16%
100 - million riyals for nine months at an interest rate 0.21%
This issuance comes within a series of issues that the bank undertakes on behalf of the government of the State of Qatar and according to the schedule prepared in advance by the Qatar Central Bank and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. Treasury bills are offered by auction in favor of banks operating in the State of Qatar.
