Widam Food Company - the main supplier of meat and livestock in the country - has opened the Sheehaniya slaughterhouse, which specializes in slaughtering all kinds of livestock.
This opening is part of Wadam's strategic plan in expanding the range of services and products within the State of Qatar.
Engineer / Muhammad Badr Al-Sada - Chairman of the Board of Directors stated that Widam Food is the leading company in the field of managing and operating slaughterhouses in the country, and stated that the Sheehaniya slaughterhouse, which is located on Rawdat Rashid Road, is the most recent project of the company, and will provide slaughtering and processing services for sheep, calves and camels for individuals and butchers in one of the most important areas of animal production. He added that the slaughterhouse was established and equipped according to the highest international standards and with the latest technologies and innovative specifications in the field of slaughterhouses to ensure the efficiency of operation and quality of products, and it will also have a major role in reducing the burden on other slaughterhouses and reducing the waiting period, and therefore the company was keen on the readiness of the slaughterhouse To operate before the holy month of Ramadan 1442 AH / 2021 AD in order to make it easier for its customers in all regions of the country to obtain their needs in the holy month, which is one of the most important consumption seasons in the year.
The slaughterhouse is located on an area of 5,000 square meters that includes halls for the slaughter of livestock, cold rooms for meat preservation, a waiting hall for the public, in addition to pens and stores for fodder, and the daily production capacity of the slaughterhouse is estimated at 1000 heads of cattle, including sheep, sheep, goats, calves and camels, which are subject to veterinary supervision by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
It is worth noting that the recent quantum leap of the slaughterhouses that the country witnessed recently ensures the sustainability of supplies of fresh meat and contributes to achieving food security in the field of red meat through slaughterhouses that are a platform for product processing and that will enhance investment in the field of animal production and cover the volume of demand for the local product.
It is noteworthy that Widam Food Company is the main supplier of live livestock and chilled and frozen meat to the local market. It also manages and operates Al Wakra automatic slaughterhouse, the latest of its kind in the Middle East, and also operates 7 other slaughterhouses, as well as owns 15 butcheries distributed in all regions of the country and a huge fleet of refrigerated cars for home delivery service.
