Within the framework of Qatar Central Bank’s endeavor to develop monetary policy in the State of Qatar, increase its effectiveness, contribute to the robustness of the banking and financial system, activate open market tools as one of the monetary policy tools, and in implementation of the coordination mechanism between fiscal and monetary policies, the Qatar Central Bank issued on Tuesday, April 06, 2021 Treasury Bills Three, six and nine months, as the value of the issuances amounted to about 600 million Qatari riyals, distributed as follows:
- 300 million riyals for three months at an interest rate of 0.12%
- 200 million riyals for six months, at an interest rate of 0.14%
- 100 million riyals for nine months, at an interest rate of 0.16%
This issuance is part of a series of issues that the bank carries out on behalf of the government of the State of Qatar and according to the schedule prepared in advance by the Qatar Central Bank and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
Treasury bills are offered by auction in favor of banks operating in the State of Qatar.
