Qatar Aluminum Manufacturing Company QPSC (QAMCO) announced the signing of an agreement between the 50% owned joint venture "Qatalum" and General Electric Company, to provide five units of modernization of the advanced gas pathway "AGP" and maintenance services for a period of 15 years within the equipment installed in the joint project to generate electric power along with cybersecurity solutions.
The innovative solution for AGP modernization units is expected to bring several benefits to the joint venture, by supporting electric power generation capabilities, enhancing plant operating efficiency, availability of gas turbines, and reducing operational costs by increasing the interval between planned maintenance cycles; In addition to reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
This 15-year agreement is an extension of GE's on-site maintenance services since its inception in 2010, and GE will also provide a comprehensive range of cybersecurity solutions for the joint venture for a period of five years to deal with external and internal risks, including applications and network security, Data protection, change management, incident handling and response, data privacy, identity management, and more.
