A cooperation agreement in the field of research and development between the Gulf Warehousing Company and the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University

 The College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University recently signed a research cooperation agreement with Gulf Warehousing Company QPSC. (GWC), the leading provider of logistics and supply chain solutions in Qatar and one of the fastest growing companies in the region.

 The College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the Gulf Warehousing Company will collaborate, by combining their expertise and resources, to promote influential and innovative research and development efforts in the fields of engineering, technology and science, with a special focus on logistics and supply chain management. The results of this initiative will be directed towards enhancing the performance of the industrial sector and achieving new opportunities and ideas beneficial to both parties, while providing a scientific approach to solving problems in dealing with the issues facing this sector.

 The agreement stipulates that Gulf Warehousing Company will cooperate with the academic programs offered by the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, which include master's and doctoral programs in logistics and supply chain management, to help students conduct research in these areas, which enhances the company's efforts in the field of research and development. HBKU will also collaborate with the company to identify opportunities for new research projects for students seeking degrees in related fields to enhance their academic achievement. Financial support may be provided to selected students to finance their research activities, sponsorship program or scholarship, depending on academic merit and relevance of the research areas.

Gulf Warehousing Company, which was recently appointed as the first regional supporter and official logistics provider for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, and the first logistics company operating from the Ras Bu Fontas and Umm Al Houl Free regions, will provide HBKU students, faculty, and researchers with access to world-class facilities, plus excellent scientific advice on potential research areas, including experimental methods and advice on the preparation and design phases.

This cooperation aims to enhance the process of integrating knowledge between the private sector and universities to improve employment opportunities, expand career paths for young professionals, and provide the logistics services sector with competent professionals ready to face the challenges facing the professional sector.
 
Dr. Mounir Hamdi, Founding Dean of the College of Science and Engineering, highlighted the aim of the collaboration, saying: “We are delighted to sign this agreement with Gulf Warehousing Company, a leading company in the logistics and supply chain sector that makes significant contributions in two specialized areas that benefit from ongoing economic development. The agreement affirms our recognition of the need to prepare researchers and highly qualified workforce in all fields related to logistics and supply chain management in Qatar We are also seeking to maximize the employability of our graduates in the college, and cooperation with entities of great weight helps in this sector, those who share this goal are strengthening our efforts to do so. "

 On his part, Mr. Ranjev Mnoun, Group Chief Executive Officer at Gulf Warehousing said: “We are delighted with this opportunity to strengthen cooperation relations with the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University as one of the leading pillars in the higher education and research sector, as the leading position of Gulf Warehousing Company drives us. Thus, the cooperation between the college and Gulf Warehousing Company will serve many important goals, which is a strong example of the importance of Partnerships in developing skills to support Qatar's national vision and its direction to serve our national economy.
