Qatar Petroleum signs an agreement to sell about 1.25 million tons per year of liquefied natural gas to Taiwan's CPC for a period of 15 years

Qatar Petroleum entered today into a fifteen-year sale and purchase agreement with CPC, Taiwan, to supply approximately 1.25 million tons per annum of LNG.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, and Mr. Shun Chin Lee, President and Acting Chairman of CPC, during a ceremony held via videoconferencing in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, CEO of Qatargas, and senior officials from both sides
Under the agreement, the supply of LNG shipments to CPC's receiving stations will start from January 2022. This agreement reflects Qatar's commitment to meeting the increasing energy demand of its customers around the world through approved and long-term LNG supplies.
On this occasion, His Excellency Eng. Al-Kaabi said: “We are pleased to conclude a long-term sale and purchase agreement for the supply of LNG with CPC, which constitutes a new milestone in our strong and decades-old partnership. We look forward to starting shipments deliveries under this agreement and continuing our supplies of LNG as a reliable and dependable global supplier.”
Minister Al Kaabi concluded his statement by saying: “We express our heartfelt thanks to CPC and all our customers around the world for trusting us as a preferred supplier of LNG. I would like to take this opportunity to thank CPC management and teams from both sides for their efforts in achieving this agreement. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, CEO of Qatargas and the participating Qatargas team, for their valuable contribution to the realization of this agreement.”
Since the signing of the first LNG supply agreement in March 2006, CPC has received more than 63 million tons of LNG from the State of Qatar.
