QInvest of Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) Announces Appointments of Two New Co-CEOs

The Board of Directors of QInvest, the investment bank of Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), has announced the appointment of Mr. Hussain Abdullah and Mr. Hussain Fakhruddin as Co-Chief Executive Officers.
Mr. Tamim Al-Kuwari submitted his resignation from his position as CEO of “QInvest”, where he will remain in this position temporarily for a short period in preparation for the transition process. He will continue his role as a member of the Board of Directors in line with the vision and strategy of “QInvest” to support its goals and ambitions towards completing the journey of its future growth. Mr. Michael Katunas has also resigned from his position as Executive Vice President of the Bank with immediate effect.
On this occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of QInvest, said: “We express our appreciation to Mr. Tamim and thank him for his successful contributions as CEO, and we also commend his qualitative achievements achieved despite the circumstances and challenges facing him in global financial market. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish the two new CEOs every success as they take up their duties in moving towards a new phase in their careers.”
Mr. Abdullah and Mr. Fakhruddin have more than 22 years of combined experience at QInvest and have more than 30 years of knowledge and long professional experience in the financial services sector. They will undoubtedly add significant value thanks to their banking knowledge, local and international relationship and the deep awareness of the regional and international market. Both will continue to work on executing strategic deals within key markets in the Middle East, Turkey and a range of countries around the world, ensuring value for both shareholders and clients.
Mr. Abdullah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Financial Studies from Qatar University, while Mr. Fakhruddin holds a Master’s degree in Finance from George Washington University in America and the American University in Beirut, Lebanon.
