The Board of Directors of the Qatar Stock Exchange appoints Mr. Tamim Hamad Al-Kuwari as CEO, succeeding Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al-Mansoori, who will continue to be a member of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Qatar Stock Exchange issued a decision appointing a member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Tamim Hamad Al-Kuwari, as CEO of the Qatar Stock Exchange, to succeed Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al-Mansoori.
Under this decision, Mr. Al-Kuwari will assume the position of CEO of the Qatar Stock Exchange as of Monday, 20 December, 2021, while Mr. Al-Mansoori will continue to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Stock Exchange in its current term.
On this occasion, Mr. Al-Mansoori expressed his congratulations to Mr. Al-Kuwari for assuming the position of CEO of the Qatar Stock Exchange, wishing him success in this mission and in achieving the goals for which the Qatar Stock Exchange was established, stressing he will continue supporting the executive management’s efforts to implement the important projects of the Stock Exchange’s strategy for the coming years.
It should be noted that Mr. Tamim Hamad Al-Kuwari previously held the position of CEO of QInvest from 2012 to 2021, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Msheireb Properties and a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Stock Exchange. Prior to joining QInvest, Mr. Tamim Al-Kuwari served as Managing Director and CEO of Goldman Sachs in Qatar from 2007 to 2012.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Nakilat, where he successfully implemented an $8 billion program to finance 27 tankers to transport LNG from Ras Laffan around the world. before joining Nakilat, he worked for Qatargas and QNB, where Mr. Tamim Al Kuwari has over 20 years of experience in banking and investment services and deal execution in a number of leading Qatari and international institutions.
Mr. Tamim Hamad Al-Kuwari holds a BA in International Business with a minor in Political Science from George Washington University and an MBA from the American University in Washington, DC.
It is noteworthy that Mr. Rashid Al-Mansoori has worked for about ten years as Deputy CEO and then CEO of the Qatar Stock Exchange, during which the Stock Exchange implemented many successful projects, and achieved many achievements, the most important of which was the promotion of the Qatari market to an emerging market on global indices. He also introduced a number of investment tools to the market, including covered short selling, margin trading, liquidity provider, and securities lending and borrowing. This is in addition to the inclusion of two exchange-traded funds and the inclusion of a number of companies in the regular and emerging markets.
