In the context of Qatar Central Bank’s endeavor to develop the monetary policy in the State of Qatar and increase its effectiveness and contribute to the strength of the banking and financial system and activate the open market tools as one of the monetary policy tools, and in implementation of the coordination mechanism between the financial and monetary policies, Qatar Central Bank issued on Tuesday, 05 July 2022, treasury bills for the terms of Three, six and nine months, where the value of the issues amounted to about 600 million Qatari riyals, distributed as follows:
300 million riyals for three months at an interest rate of 0.75%
200 million riyals for six months at an interest rate of 2.02%
100 million riyals for nine months at an interest rate of 2.29%
This issue is part of a series of issues that the bank carries out on behalf of the government of the State of Qatar and according to the schedule prepared in advance by the Qatar Central Bank and in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. Treasury bills are auctioned for the benefit of banks operating in the State of Qatar.
