The consumer price index in Qatar rose by 5.41% in June 2022 on an annual basis

The Planning and Statistics Authority issued the Consumer Price Index for the month of June 2022, and the index reached 103.14 points, which is closer to stability, by 0.01% compared to the previous month, May 2022, and by 5.41% compared to the corresponding month (June) of 2021.
When calculating the consumer price index for the month of June 2022, after excluding the group of housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuel, it reached a point of 106.13, recording a relative stability of 0.02%, compared to the previous month (May 2022), and an increase of 5.41% compared to the corresponding month in 2021.

Monthly change
When comparing the main components of the index for the month of June 2022 with the previous month, May 2022, it becomes clear that there has been an increase in the entertainment and culture group only by 2.26%, and five groups have decreased as follows: the group of clothes and shoes by 2.25%, the group of other goods and services by 1.39%, and the group of restaurants and hotels by 0.26%, the food and beverage group by 0.17%, and the transportation group by 0.07%.
There was no change in the groups of tobacco, housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuel, furniture and household appliances, health, communications, education compared to the previous month (May 2022).

Annual change
When comparing June 2022 with the corresponding month in 2021 (annual change), it was found that there was an increase in the general index by 5.41%, which is the result of the rise in eight groups: the entertainment and culture group by 36.45%, followed by the housing, water and electricity group and gas and other fuels by 5.41%, food and beverages group by 4.33%, other goods and services group by 2.10%, transportation group by 1.77%, furniture and household appliances group by 1.37%, communications group by 0.37%, education group by 0.22%. As for the annual decreases, they occurred in the health group by 3.14%, the clothing and shoes group by 0.41%, and the restaurants and hotels group by 4058%, and there was no change in the tobacco group.
