The Planning and Statistics Authority issued the consumer price index for December 2022. The index reached 108.20 points, an increase of 1.24% compared to the previous month, November 2022, and a rate of 5.93% compared to the corresponding month (December) of 2021.
When comparing the main components of the index for December 2022 with the previous month, November 2022 (monthly change), it becomes clear that there is an increase in six groups, a decrease in two groups, and stability in four other groups.
As for the rise, it occurred in the entertainment and culture group by 7.33%, followed by the restaurants and hotels group by 1.84%, the transportation group by 1.22%, the other goods and services group by 0.51%, the food and beverages group by 0.43%, and the furniture and home appliances group by 0.10%.
On the other hand, there was a decrease in the communications group by 2.03%, and the clothing and shoes group by 0.42%, and there was no change in the tobacco, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, health, and education groups, compared with the previous month (November 2022).
When comparing the month of December 2022 with the corresponding month in 2021 (annual change), it was found that there was an increase in the general index by 5.93%, which resulted from the increase in seven groups: the entertainment and culture group by 25.36%, followed by the housing, water, electricity and gas group. And other fuels by 11.90%, restaurants and hotels by 10.08%, food and beverages by 1.62%, education by 1.09%, furniture and home appliances by 0.95%, and transportation by 0.27%.
As for the decreases, they occurred in the Communications group by 3.37%, followed by the Health group by 2.31%, the Clothes and Shoes group by 0.38%, and the Other Goods and Services group by 0.08%, and there was no change in the Tobacco group.
And when calculating the consumer price index for the month of December 2022, after excluding the group of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, it reached the point 110.88, registering an increase of 1.53%, compared to the previous month (November 2022), and an increase of 4.61% compared to the corresponding month in 2021.
Mazaya Real Estate Development Company (Q.P.S.C) announced the completion and receipt of two buildings from the Qatari Company for Reclamation and Development of Lands and Rehabilitation in Mesaimeer, at a value of 53 million riyals, which are leased with an annual return equivalent to 7.8% for a period of five years, subject to renewal, in accordance with the terms and conditions contained in the Contract.

This deal was concluded based on the previously concluded agreement, which states that Mazaya Real Estate Development Company will acquire four buildings in the Mesaimeer area. Two out of the four buildings have been completed and received, and the company settled on these two buildings only due to the effects resulting from the increase in bank profit rates.
