Ministry of Finance: Qatar's budget for the year 2022 achieves an actual surplus of 89 billion riyals


Data from the Ministry of Finance showed today that the budget of the State of Qatar for the fiscal year 2022 achieved an actual surplus of 89 billion riyals, a record increase of 5462.5 percent, compared to the surplus achieved for the year 2021, which did not exceed 1.6 billion riyals.
In its briefing on the actual data of Qatar's budget in the fourth quarter (October, November, December) of 2022, the ministry indicated that the total surplus for this quarter amounted to 11.6 billion riyals, compared to a deficit of (3.3) billion riyals in the same quarter of 2021.
It explained that the total budget revenues for the fourth quarter of 2022 amounted to 65.1 billion riyals, compared to 51.5 billion riyals in the same period of 2021, of which oil and gas revenues accounted for 59.3 billion riyals in 2022 compared to 44.7 billion riyals in 2021, while non-oil revenues represented 5.8 billion. riyals in 2022, compared to 6.8 billion riyals in 2021.
It stated that the total expenditures for the fourth quarter of 2022 amounted to 53.5 billion riyals compared to 54.8 billion riyals in the same period of 2021, of which the salaries and wages item formed 15.4 billion riyals compared to 15 billion riyals for the parallel quarter of 2021, while current expenses amounted to 19.3 billion riyals in 2022 compared to 16.1 billion riyals in 2021, while secondary capital expenditures accounted for 1.4 billion riyals in 2022 compared to 1.1 billion riyals in 2021, and major projects amounted to 17.4 billion riyals in 2022 compared to 22.6 billion riyals in 2021.
