Medicare Group: Disclosure of the judgment in the lawsuit in the cassation appeal No. 213/2023 and No. 318/2023


Medicare Group, according to the outside law firm, announced the ruling in the lawsuit 213.
No. 213/2023 filed by the Medicare Group against the National Health Insurance Company - SEHA (under liquidation) and others, and cassation appeal No. 318/2023 filed by the National Health Insurance Company - SEHA (under liquidation) against the Medicare Group and others, where the Court of Cassation ruled in a session on Tuesday 16/05/2023, as follows:
1- In the appeal filed by Medicare Group at the end of the litigation.
2- In the appeal filed by the National Health Insurance Company by cassation of the contested judgment and referring the case to the Court of Appeal, and obliging the respondent to pay the expenses.
Consequently, the case will be heard again before the Court of Appeal, and the company will disclose the ruling that will be issued by the Court of Appeal as soon as it is issued.
It should be noted that the ruling of the Court of Appeal had upheld the ruling of the Court of First Instance issued on 09/30/2020 with the following:
1- Inadmissibility of the case with regard to the two litigants involved in filing it against unqualified persons.
2- Oblige the first defendant, the National Health Insurance Company - SEHA (under liquidation) to pay Medicare Group an amount of 125,683,595 Qatari riyals for the value of its dues, in addition to an amount of 5,000,000 Qatari riyals as comprehensive compensation, and the rest of the requests were rejected.
It should be noted that the operative ruling was issued today, corresponding to 23/05/2023.
