Ooredoo (P.Q.S.C), whose trading symbol is ORDS, has announced the appointment of Roni Tohme as the new CEO of Ooredoo Algeria, as of August 1, 2023, after successfully completing the transition period during which he held the position of Acting CEO.
Roni has more than 21 years of experience in the field of telecommunications and financial services, and he previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Ooredoo Algeria, where he played a vital role in shaping the work of the financial department with flexibility and smoothness, and actively contributed to the great transformation witnessed by the company. He also succeeded in implementing cost efficiency programs, which in turn helped in enhancing profitability significantly.
Roni was appointed in February 2023 as Acting CEO of Ooredoo Algeria, succeeding former CEO Bassam Al Ibrahim.
Prior to joining Ooredoo, Roni held a number of positions with reputable companies in Africa and Asia, including Areeba, Africell, MTN, Airtel, and Axiata Group, gaining extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, telecom tower management, and transformation strategies.
Roni holds a Bachelor's degree in Financial Services and Business Administration from the American University of Beirut, and a Master's degree in Financial Services and Business Administration from Walden University in the United States of America.
